Hon. (Dr.) Maina Yaumi at the 12th World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE 12), Doha – Qatar

The Executive Secretary of the Borno State Education Trust Fund, Hon. (Dr.) Maina Yaumi, participated in the 12th World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE 12) held from 24th – 25th November 2025 in Doha, Qatar.

The global summit brought together world leaders, education administrators, and key stakeholders from over 200 countries, all converging to exchange ideas and explore innovative solutions to the challenges facing education worldwide. The conference focused on “Human Values at the Heart of Education – Humanity.io.”

During the event, Hon. (Dr.) Maina Yaumi held a strategic meeting with Mohammed Al-Kubaisi, Chief Executive Officer of Education Above All, where discussions centered on potential collaborations with the Borno State Education Trust Fund (Borno State Government). Key areas highlighted include reducing Out-of-School Children, strengthening the Almajiri/Sangaya system, and enhancing bilingual education to improve learning outcomes in Borno State.

He also met with representatives of the Qatar Foundation and the Qatar Fund for Development, seeking strengthened partnerships and support towards improving education delivery in Borno State.

Notable Nigerian attendees at the summit included Nigeria’s First Lady, Her Excellency Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, Pro-Chancellors of Federal Universities, Nigerians residing in Qatar, and other education stakeholders.
