Familiarization Visit by Auditor General for Local Governments to Borno State Education Trust Fund

The Auditor General for Local Governments, Alhaji Babagana Laminu, paid a familiarization visit to the Borno State Education Trust Fund (ETF) office in Maiduguri, accompanied by his team of senior officials.

The delegation was warmly received by the Executive Secretary, Hon. (Dr) Maina Yaumi, alongside the ETF’s three directors:

• Director of Planning, Research & Statistics – Abba Kurama Umar

• Director of Finance & Accounts – Mustapha M. Bulu

• Director of Administration & Supplies – Mohammed Idris

During the interactive session, the Executive Secretary briefed the Auditor General and his team on the mandate of the ETF, its operational framework, and how projects are conceptualized, executed, and monitored across Borno State.

In response, Alhaji Babagana Laminu commended the ETF leadership for their significant contributions to educational transformation in the state, emphasizing that the impact of their interventions is widely felt across all LGAs. He further offered valuable advisory input on financial auditing, encouraging ETF’s Finance Department to maintain transparency, accuracy, and compliance with standard audit practices.

The visit concluded with a group photograph to mark the successful engagement and shared commitment to accountability and educational development.
