As part of this year’s Eid el-Fitr 2025 celebrations, the Borno State Education Trust Fund (BSETF) has brought smiles and festive cheer to the hearts of 400 pupils at the North East Learning Centre in Maiduguri by distributing brand new Sallah outfits.
The brief but colorful ceremony was held at the Centre and attended by key dignitaries and well-wishers, including:
Prof. Hauwa Abdu Biu, Chairperson, BSETF Board
Abba Kurama Umar, Director of Planning, Research & Statistics
Baba Hassan Kachallah, Board Member of the Centre
Comrade Bulama Abiso, representing the Network of Civil Societies
...and other dignitaries who came to share in the joy of the children.
The distribution covered all 400 pupils of the Centre — 241 boys and 159 girls — who are largely orphans and vulnerable children, many of whom have been affected by the insurgency in the region.
This act of kindness is more than just new clothes — it’s a powerful reminder that every child deserves to feel seen, valued, and celebrated, especially during times of joy and reflection like Sallah.
A heartfelt thank you to the BSETF team and all stakeholders for making this Sallah extra special for these young hearts. Together, we are building not just schools, but hope, dignity, and belonging.
